The sun shone brilliantly on July 2, 1955 when Pan American Flight 914 took off from the airport runway of New York headed to Miami, Florida, the 57 passengers inside the plane watched as they passed through the high clouds drifted across the blue skies. However, they didn’t expect that such a fine day would not let them get into their destination… for almost four decades.
