Keely Favell had always maintained her healthy figure. With a curvaceous and well-upholstered body, you could tell how much she took great care of it. The 24-year-old woman was a regular at their local gym and nourished herself with a proper diet. That was why when she saw her reflection through the bathroom mirror, she immediately noticed something odd from her lower abdomen.

Keely scurried to get a couple of pregnancy tests, but every single one came back negative. Was there any possible reason? Or was she just gaining weight? Based on the analysis of the doctor, Keely was “merely being fat.” She was dumbfounded. But she couldn’t question it anymore as it was already coming from the professional’s analysis. Keely transferred to the ultrasound room, where the radiologist greeted her. She began setting up the equipment and applied gel to Keely’s stomach. When the radiologist placed the apparatus on her belly, she gasped because the monitor projected blank. There was absolutely nothing inside. The radiologist stood up from her seat and informed Keely that she would get a consultant. Keely’s pupils dilated as terror slowly filling up her senses. Good thing, Jamie was on her side.

The consultant came rushing inside the room. Blank findings from ultrasound didn’t mean that there was nothing wrong. It could be an indicator that something different was inside her stomach, and it might be a tumor or cyst. Kelly’s eyes widened in horror because all this time, she wasn’t aware that her life was on the line. The consultant told her to take a CT scan this time.

CT Scan

After the scan, the doctor immediately returned with the results. Keely held Jamie’s hand tight as she found out that the blank images that showed up on her ultrasound weren’t blank at all. In fact, it was a vast black mass of cyst. The CT scan revealed that the sac fluid inside her stomach was 25 centimeters thick! Everything started to make sense, including her sudden weight gain. The doctor didn’t want to waste another minute and referred Kelly to a high-risk obstetric consultant.

Playing With Fire

“I’ll never forget the look of shock on his face when the consultant examined me,” Keely said and added, “He said I had a large ovarian mass, and the only option was surgery. He couldn’t say what I was exactly, or how big.” After a month, they started preparing for her operation. However, the consultant gave her a heads up that there could be more than just one cyst attached to her other organs. This sent shivers down her spine because it sounded like a warning to Keely. A warning that her life could be in great danger.

The Surgery

They proceeded with the operation. Keely would be lying if she said she wasn’t terrified going under the knife. But this was her only option, and Keely wanted to return to her normal life so bad. The estimated time for the surgery to finish was about 90 minutes. However, it went much beyond the expected time.

Medical Wonder

The whole surgery lasted for five dreadful hours! But on the brighter side, the doctors were successful from taking out the massive cyst from her stomach.
